March 2020 - One Body, Many Parts

We may not feel like we have much to offer, but all God asks is for a willing spirit.

Start a Legacy

Often, we put too much pressure on ourselves when leading others, especially when it comes to Bible studies.  We think, “I’m not an expert. I’m not a pastor. I don’t feel equipped to lead others through God’s Word.” Fear holds us back from God’s best for our lives, and if we give in to those fears, it may keep us and others from His Good News. But, scripture tells us we don’t need to have expertise or charisma.

Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”          2 Corinthians 3:4-5

What a relief!  Christ alone converts people’s hearts to live for Him, and no human can take credit for this transformation. All we need is a desire to see God change lives and great resources like BBT, and anyone can lead a Bible study!

  • His Confidence
  • His Word
  • His Mission
Do you have the desire to see God change lives, especially for those with whom you work?

Lead a Legacy

BBT is grateful for the leadership of our Board members, and is thrilled to announce the addition of two more leaders of character, Chet Guess and Orvin Kimbrough.

Orvin has spent his career working to improve the quality of people’s lives. He began his career in non-profit work and, in 2013, became the CEO for United Way of Greater St. Louis. In 2019, Orvin began leading as Chairman and CEO of Midwest BankCentre, where he continues to work toward the betterment of people’s lives.

Chet has spent his career in the tech sector and often says, “Technology is meaningless by itself. It’s the application of technology that derives meaning.” Chet recently retired as

the Chief Technology Officer of GE and currently serves as the CTO and President of the Technology Investment Group at Kingdom Capital.

Thank you, Chet and Orvin, for generously sharing your time, talent, and expertise with BBT!

Gifts for Blessing Others

"Even so, the body is not made up of one part but of many." 1 Corinthians 12:12

As BBT groups meet around café and conference room tables, each participant brings something unique. You can share your gifts and experience by taking turns leading lessons. BBT makes it simple to lead through three easy steps:

  • Open 1 screen
  • Record 2 Items
  • Recap with 3 steps

BBT created a coin that can be passed to a different individual each week to encourage everyone that they can and should share their leadership by facilitating a lesson. The next time your BBT group meets, look across the table and pass the coin. Invite your co-workers to lead the following week. Contact us at admin@b-b-t.org to receive a coin for your group.

Is your BBT group sharing leadership?
